WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. item upgrades can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool using an The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a benefit and an issue.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will cost less even if they belong to an entirely different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few choices. They can make use of Flightstones which are a common upgrade currency available to all players, or crests, which are more specialized and are consumed during upgrades at specific item levels. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
